Character's Name: Isabella Ilu
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Physical Profile
Height: 5'4'' Build: Medium/Slightly Overweight., Hair: Brown, Eyes: Brown Skin Tone: Brown Weight: a gram below the max allowed
Race: Half Pakled Half Human… Though she only found out she was half human when she was abandoned on a Federation ship.
Birthplace: unknown merchant ship in Beta Quadrant (for under the name just put Beta Quadrant please)
Career track: N/A (Prep School)
Personality:
Rather child like much like her species, however unlike them it is more a cultural thing for her as she has always been smarter than those around her. So her speech patterns seem rather juvenile, as that is what she is used to hearing living on a Pakled merchant ship most of her life. Though in meeting other species she has learned to make her speech patterns sound more like other species, and somewhat more complex than an average Pakled.
Naturally like many in her species she is rather cunning which brings a natural competitiveness to her. She is also rather possessive of her belongings, as she expects people to steal them based on living on a Pakled ship most her life. She also has a rather well earned fear of abandonment.
Background and History:
Last year...
It was a typical encounter with a foreign vessel. Her father who was the captain of the merchant ship ordered the medical officer to purposely temporarily sabotage the ships life support system. The federation had a natural distrust of interactions with Pakled ships, mostly as they tended to try to steal technology, and her father was no different.
What went wrong was the federation ship was run by Vulcans who logically offered to allow some of the members of there crew to stay on the federation ship while the repair was fixed. This where things got complicated as there were many in the crew who were wanted for various minor infractions by the federation so only a few were sent over including herself.
The reason she was sent over was if anyone could swipe information from the Federation it was her as she was one of the smartest. Even though she had a natural distaste for stealing things which could not be explained, and made her get more than medical test for brain damage over the years. As if Pakleds were know for anything besides childish behavior it was for stealing things they were not smart enough to acquire on there own.
Something went wrong with her fathers plan when one of the crew was noticed by a Federation security officer. So rather randomly when she was sitting in the mess hall of the Federation ship all of the other members of the crew she was originally from were beamed out of the mess hall. Leaving her alone on the federation ship.
Her first reaction was naturally confusion followed by running and almost knocking down the security guards assigned to watch over her on the shipmates. Though he was faster than her panic'ed rush to transporter room as she wanted to go back home, as he quickly stunned her thinking this was part of some plan to steal stuff from the Federation.
Later when she woke up in a holding cell she learned that her fathers ship had beamed off the rest of the crew. Not that she figured out why, or had a guess as to why, until much later as the natural assumption by all parties that this was part of some plan to steal Federation technology. Which lead to questioning by security on the ship and her sitting in cell for a few days before she was moved to quarters with a federation officer that offered to watch out for her.
Of course no one including that officer trusted her and she was smart enough to know it. However since she was only sixteen, and they had no idea what to do with her they made her go to the ship school during the day. As much for her education as it was a place where she could be easily watched.
A month later...
The ship she was on was rather small Defiant class though unlike most refitted for a science exploration mission so there were few people. The only reason there were any children on the ship is a couple of the civilian science specialists refused to leave there children behind for the months the mission was expected to take.
Unfortunately due to the mission the ship was on they could not turn back and drop her off at a space station so she had to stay on the ship. As she would learn a month later the Captain thought her ship would come back for her as the person the Security officer recognized on her fathers ship had more of a minor infraction. However with the combination of the ship she was on using warp speed, and the fact they had not yet the Captain stopped thinking that.
Naturally she still was hoping her father would come back for her as unlikely as that was. The Captian gave her the opportunity to attempt to comm her fathers ship or someone in her family to tell them she was safe. However as she tried not even thinking the Captian was trying to find where they were to report back to superiors the attempt failed. The reason for the failure she was sure was the fact that her father's engineer had taken to reconfiguring the ships identification system on a somewhat regular basis.
After that failure she noticed the security following her less more and more as they began to trust her, or figure she was less and less of a threat. Which was true, as when she realized her father was not going to come back for her she felt rather hopeless and was rather depressed for awhile. Which lead to her eating less and less eventually being sent to the medical wing as the counselors were worried for her physical health.
One of the medical exams they gave her in trying to figure out a way to pull her out of that depression pointed out she was half human and half Pakled. Which based on what she learned on the ship about basic engineering lead her to ask the oddest of questions. "Would beam to take Pakled take me?"
The response she received from the doctor said " Do you think that is what your fathers ship did with the transporter? ".
More of a question than a response however it did not take much thought for her to say "Yes" as it was a trick she knew her father used. Though she was never on the other ship when her father did it before. She knew the transporter system on her fathers ship was not that advanced, and the operator not smart enough to figure she was missing. Her thoughts were confirmed when she watched the doctor nod then call an engineer to the medical bay.
That was a turning point as the engineer examined the logs and found that in fact that seemed to be the beam pattern that was used. Though since they did not suspect she was anything but Pakled they did not think of it before.
Six months later...
The mission was three months from being over, and during her time on the ship she had managed to catch halfway to her age group as far as education went. Though the concept of age group and intelligence might be slightly skewed by the fact that of the now six children on the ship four of them were Vulcan and the other one human.
The officer who had been watching over her during her time on the ship pulled her to the side to discuss what she planned for her future. Naturally her only plans in her life until six months ago were to stay and work on her fathers ship. Probably in engineering as she was certainly not smart enough to do anything medical related. There was a reason Pakled ships usually had other species working as there medical officers and technical officers for the most part, as they were useful in those positions.
Apparently it would be logical for her to continue her education, and she would be disembarking the ship at the Vulcan station they were letting many of the scientists off at the end of the mission. Attempting to find her fathers ship would be illogical as unless she had any idea where it may go or was regularly it would be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Though it would be logical for her to send a message to her home planet saying she was ok, and how she could be contacted.
At this time she had no idea what she wanted to do, however the idea of being left on a Vulcan space station scared her more than a bit. So her first question she asked was " Can I stay work on ship?"
The answer was naturally No then an explanation of what was required to be a Federation officer. As much as she disliked being abandoned on the ship, she did like the ship better than her fathers ship. Not only be cause it was cleaner, but because everything was so interesting. She even sometimes got to help out with various things like her fellow students who varied in age from 10-17 as the Captain thought them helping out with the scientific mission would be good for them.
Nine Months Later...
If anyone had told her nine months ago that with a click of a button would result in her leaving everything she knew. They were approaching the station and she had contacted one of her fathers friend a merchant that was stationed on an outpost in deep space that her father tended to make runs towards once a year or so. Mostly as that station had the only mechanic that had a clue of how her fathers ship was put together. She found out then that her father had not been there in the last nine months, and she would be contacted if he stopped there. It was the best shot she had at contacting him.
As much as she wanted to go searching for him, she had been told enough times it would be an illogical course of action. So she decided to take a logical course of action instead by attempting to join the federation. Though instead of taking the exam the Captain of the ship she was on put in a request that she be allowed to enter the preparatory academy as that would be a logical next step for her as based on her lessons on the ship she would likely not pass, as well as it was a bit late to enter the academy due to the fact she was picked up in month three of a full year scientific mission.
